Who's spring perches are those? Did you make them yourself or buy them?

they are the ones that came with the Ford 8.8

I was too cheap to buy new ones, so i was really careful cutting the perches off and was able to reuse them.

the cable lock idea for the parking brake I stole from this guy...

I just cut off the perches on the 8.8 and used the kit from M.O.R.E. I just wondered as I have always disliked the squatting look my Jeep as had since I put in the 8.8. I had wondered if I used the wrong perches. Spoke to M.O.R.E. and nope. I used the correct ones.

Jason, did you do a SOA or SUA? Because I thought the MORE kits were SOA.

I cut an inch off the front and back of my perches. It helped a little.

Good catch guys. I actually went the budget way for now. The covers I found were $179. I figured after I get it back together, and on all fours I could always swap it out at a later time.

I'll update my own post. I found a diff cover for $104 for the Ford 8.8

You guys bring up a good point. When you go with an aftermarket perch (due to the necessary clearance needed when bending the steel) they often end up being pretty tall, and when used in a Spring Under setup, it can take away lift. One thing you can do is grind down the area that mounts to the axle...kinda like this...

The length plays a roll too for SUA. 7" is to long.

Found these at summit for the SUA guys. These are 4 5/16" length. I called Moroso and verified. Local shop has them instock. Going to get them!

Sure is nice looking... I still have the stock cover on mine. I'm worried about clearance. The thin steel one "self-clearanced" with my fuel tank skid. I was kind of into the mindset that I won't mess with it until I need to.

I agree. If I can pull it off and need to take the diff cover off again, I will try to get it. :hide:

Your still gonna lose about a quarter inch: 3.25" tubes vs. the d35 2.62"

all you have to do is get rear springs 2 or more inches taller than the front. Than you will have more down force and you can turn better? lol
